Pay Per Click Advertising (Part 2)

So in my last post we covered Google adwords and how to setup PPC ads. In this post I will cover an alternative PPC site. As you are aware, sometimes Google adwords have strict guides to what sort of ads you can advertise and also what website you are promoting.

This week I setup a new account with BidVertiser who are offering at the moment $20 in free clicks for new accounts.

To set up an account is free but to activate your $20 in free clicks you will need to provide a credit card. But having said that if you are unhappy you can simply pause your ads before your $20 runs out and you won’t be billed.

Write effective ads

  • Research shows that users are more likely to click on ads that are tailored, clear and factual:
  • Describe what users will find when they click on your ad and go to your site.
  • Be neutral and write as if you were a visitor describing your site.
  • Avoid using superlatives such as “the best”, “cheapest” or “greatest”.
  • Should you offer a product or service within a certain geographical area only, include it in the description.

Target specific URLs

  • Research indicates that 96% of people prefer a specific page over a more general page, meaning, sending customers to a specific product page is much more likely to result in sales:
  • Send your customers directly to the URL that is most relevant to your ad.
  • For example, a provider of consumer electronics products who advertise a Sony DCR-PC350 Camcorder, should target the ads directly to the specific product page.

I had tried another PPC site called adBrite which costs $5 to just set up your account, no promotion and they refused all of my ads without a good explanation. I don’t recommend using them as you may be out of pocket before you even start and your ads may not even get approved.

Back to BidVertiser, after setting up my account and first advert which was approved quickly and an easy process I started to receive traffic. I set my clicks to a maximum of $0.06c per click. To which I was surprised to receive traffic, as coming from Adwords I was paying from $0.25 – $0-85 per click, so a big saving there. BidVertiser also have a publisher program so you can make money from displaying ads on your Blog or website and range from $0.03+ per click and also a referral program.

If your looking for an alternative PPC advertiser to the normal I recommend giving BidVertiser a go, if not only for the free $20 in clicks!

Pay Per Click Advertising

Getting Started with Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC) is an efficient method of driving relevant traffic to your website. It allows your company or website to advertise to a huge audience and only pay when those who are truly are interested in your product click on the link to enter your website. PPC ads can appear above, to the right of, or below the organic search results.

Before you begin, it’s import that marketers identify their business goals. Is the sale or purchase the most important aspect of the site or is it pursuing a lead? After you identify your goals and establish a plan of action, go ahead and get started!

This post focuses on Google Adwords and getting started in these easy steps, I will cover other PPC Websites and alternative cheaper PPC sites in the near future.

1:   Create an account

Visit https://adwords.google.com and click “Start now.” Enter an email address, choose a password, select a time zone and currency, and confirm your email address.

2:   Create your first advert

After creating an account you’ll be taken directly to page where you can create your first PPC advert. There are several things to take into consideration when using Adwords

Select where your advert will appear – Adwords default options are already set but you spend some time to identify the websites, locations, and languages of interest. You can also select which devices your advert should appear on – such as personal computers, tablets or smartphones.

Establish a budget – decide how much you’re willing to pay each time someone clicks your ad, and set a maximum amount that you want to spend per day.

Write an advert – write a headline and a short description that meets Google’s ad requirements. Ads can show, including spaces, 25 characters for the title, 70 characters for the ad text, and 35 characters for a display URL.
You cannot use all caps but you will be able to use caps for the first letter of every word.

For example, I will place an advert for Beebuc:

-
Hire People To Do Things
Get Twitter Followers or Facebook.
Likes For Cheap Prices!
www.Beebuc.com
-

Select relevant keywords – your advert can show when people search Google using words you included in your ads. Depending on which options you choose, they could also see your ad on Google’s partner sites across the Internet.

You can generate keyword ideas from Google Adwords Keyword Tool and Google Insights for Search.

You can also add keyword matching options to your keywords to help control which searches will trigger your advert to appear. There are four options available: broad match (and broad match modifier), phrase match, exact match, and negative match.

In general, the broader the keyword matching option (broad match), the more traffic potential that keyword has and the narrower the keyword matching option (exact match), the more relevant that keyword will be to someone’s search. For example, a customer searching for “Twitter” is still in the research phase. A customer searching for “Twitter+ Followers” is past the research phase and is likely ready to purchase Twitter followers.

Understanding these differences can help you choose the right keyword matching options to reach your campaign goals.

3:   Activate your account – the last step requires you to enter some very basic billing information and a coupon code if you have one available. If you have a new website your launching and not yet selected a hosting provider, it’s a good idea to shop around as some hosting providers give adword vouchers with hosting plans from $25 right up to $100. You also have the ability at any time to pause, edit, or cancel your advert. As soon as you turn on your campaign, your adverts will begin appearing immediately.
